"Eyes": How to keep them healthy? Here are tips from Ayurveda Experts

"Eyes": How to keep them healthy? Here are tips from Ayurveda Experts:

"Do you take care of your eyes once a week or at least once a month?", the most common reply would probably be in the negative.

The eyes are considered to tbe the most important organ in ourt body and yet, people neglect to care for them.

Although we use our eyes everyday 24 X 7, we rarely pay attention until there is some serious problem.

Ayurveda advises to take care of health while in a healthy state.

You can maintain perfect eyesight for most part of your life by following some simple remedies.

Every morning after waking up, fill your mouth with water, close the eyes and sprinkle water on them about 10-15 times. Be sure, as Ayurveda advises, to wake up before sunrise. Do not use hot water to wash the eyes.

Do not wash the eyes or face when the body is sweating, especially after hard physical exercise or after being exposed to heat and sun.

Do not stare continuously, specially while looking at long distance objects. Blinking or giving rest to the eyes is good.

Do not look at the objects in bright sunlight for a long time.

Avoid reading, writing or working with eyes in improper light, or when the light is not sufficient.

Take a break and give rest to the eyes if you feel heaviness or tiredness in the eyes.

Staying up late in the night and sleeping after sunrise is harmful for the eyes. In case of staying up late, drink a cup of water after each hour or half hour.

Protect your eyes from dust, smoke, strong sunlight and strong wind. Avoid staying long in such conditions. In case you have to stay, blink often and massage the closed eyes gently with your palms.

Try to maintain regular and clean bowel movements. Constipation weakens the eyesight. In addition; too much anxiety, mental stress, grief, anger and worry are harmful for the eyes.

Regular eye exercise maintains perfect eyesight. One simple method of exercise is moving the eyeball - right and left; upwards and downwards and rotating it in the clockwise and anti-clockwise directions.

Another simple way of protecting of eyes is through 'palming'. Rub the palms of both hands for about 30 seconds, close the eyes and gently place the warm palms over the eyes.

Eating cabbage and carrots is very beneficial for the eyes. These should be eaten raw. It is all right to drink cabbage and carrot juice mixed together or separately.

If Triphala (an Ayurvedic preparation) is available, you can wash the eyes with 'Triphala water'. Put a teaspoonful of Triphala powder in a glass of water, and let it stay overnight. Strain the water and wash the eyes with it.

Putting one drop of honey in each eye once a week is also beneficial to the eyes. It causes a bit of irritation, but cleans the eyes.

Try these remedies and keep your eyes healthy and beautiful. These remedies can be used by everyone, including those having weak eyesight. Through these methods, one can even improve one's weak eyesight and maybe even give up the use of spectacles forever.

Check your and family health every year.

Ms. Dunwoody : First Women General in USA Army

Ms. Dunwoody : First Women General in USA Army

Swami Vivekananda appreciated the high strides of women education and working culture in USA during his 1893 visit. However it took one more century to get Women General in Military / Armed Forces in USA.

Read Dunwoody to be first General:

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/World/USA/US_army_to_get_its_first_female_four-star_general/rssarticleshow/3158413.cms
Thanks to Times of India: It states:
Dunwoody was named deputy commanding general of materiel command only last week, following the retirement of Lieutenant General William Mortensen. Army spokeswoman Lieutenant Colonel Anne Edgecomb said the nomination of Dunwoody to the rank of four-star general was "important, considering that there are about 11 four-star generals in the army and we have a total force of 1,077,500 soldiers," of whom 14 per cent are women.

How about GYM or MY-G i.e. Google-Yahoo-Microsoft merger for Web 3.0 and beyond?

There are news about Microsoft-Yahoo-Google (GYM or MY-G) and their tug of war, since last few months/ years. Latest being:
http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/06/19/has-microsoft-sent-yahoo-into-a-death-spiral/
and
http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-yahoo20-2008jun20,0,3290455.story .

Forget quarrels let us add innovation, creativity, paradigm shift, freshness on the World Wide Web.

How about GYM or MY-G i.e. Google-Yahoo-Microsoft merger for Web 3.0 and beyond?
I am trying to step in and stop the vicious rivalry between giant companies. It can cause death to creativity and innovation on the web that this G-Y-M has started.
United GYM seems to be impossible but USA-USSR working together was also impossible few decades ago.
My request to world community is to stop this non-sense and let us invest our time in some creativity.

Be alert against this new hacking devices

Few Hacking Devices

One of my colleuge named Gowda, has send me this email to alert all who use computer, credit card, internet in the public places. It is about hacking devices that have arrived in the market and to avoid getting hacked, and to avoid frauds.

++++++++The message as it is+++++++++++++++++

PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHENEVER YOU'RE USING A PC AT A PUBLIC PLACE (Like INTERNET CAFES..ETC). CHECK THE BACK OF THE PC AND SEE IF THE BELOW DEVICE IS THERE..IF SO..DO NOT USE IT!!!!

New storing device fits at the end of the keyboard cable connecting to the PC specialized to save all typed keys in it… Mostly could be used in net cafes, exhibitions, hotels and airports therefore be careful especially the people who use the internet in these places to enter their bank accounts online or any other important sites. After you enter the bank account and leave the PC it will be easy to open your account again as all what you have typed has been saved in the Black device. Therefore, you should check the PC for any suspicious piece behind it before using the net in public places for important sites.

Please send it to all who you know to educate them against this fraud.

The Ideal World versus the Real World (Poem)

The Ideal World versus the Real World (Poem)

In my ideal world I saw truthfulness every where,
In my real life I faced un-truthfulness every where,
In my ideal life I saw human being creating haven on earth,
In my real life I am visualizing human beings are on verge of creating hell on earth,
In my ideal world I saw honesty every where,
In my real life I face dishonesty only,
In my ideal world I saw trust among each other,
In my practical work life I faced untrustworthiness only,
In my ideal life I remained happy all the times,
In my practical daily life I saw unhappy people only,
In my ideal world every one was unselfish,
In my practical life I faced only selfishness,
.....
What more can I say?
Ideal and Real lives are becoming juxtaposed.

Father and Father's day

Father and Father's day:

Watch this beautiful flash presentation and great.
http://www.touchninspire.com/inspire/father.html
Thanks to website touch to inspire.

I have unique experience that many soldier's/ military personnel family might have seen or virtually or directly experienced.

My father came from war, I was child and I asked my mother," Who is this person?"
++++++++++No need to say mother cried+++++++
From that instance I realised "War is Bad rather the Worst thing in life of many and it is not a solution but an aggravator to every problem. Families face stress, soldier faces stress, countries face stress, economies face stress.........
Fathers are very important they bring discipline, hope, direction to lives....that's how I am indebted to father, my poem states, even if I make the sleepers of skin for my parents I won't be able to repay the debt to my parents.

Gray's Anatomy: Know the Human body in and out

Gray's Anatomy: Know the Human body in and out:
(It's worth reading for everyone, not only medical practitioner but even general public)

This is one of the finest book I ever read besides the spiritual books from all the religions, like Complete Bible, Koran, Geeta and Mahabharata, Ramayana, Puran, Dnyaneshwari, Eknathi Bhagawat, Tukarm Gatha, Dasbodh, Brahmasutras, Patanjali Yogsutra, and others.

It is so engrossing that once you take it for reading you hardly find time to get away from it. Let others get benefited if they are interested in reading. Here are few URLs:

BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS

BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS ( As send by Ms. Revathi, our collegue)

1. No Breakfast
People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level.
This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.

2. Overeating
It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.

3. Smoking
It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.

4. High Sugar consumption
Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.

5. Air Pollution
The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.

6. Sleep Deprivation
Sleep allows ur brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells.

7. Head covered while sleeping
Sleeping with the head covered, increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.

8. Working your brain during illness
Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.

9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts
Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.

10. Talking Rarely
Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T he main causes of liver damage are:

1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are main cause.
2. Not urinating in the morning.
3. Too much eating.
4. Skipping breakfast.
5. Consuming too much medication.
6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring , and artificial sweetener.
7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. As much as possible reduce cooking oil use when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils like olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired, except if the body is very fit.
8. Consuming raw (overly done) foods also add to the burden of liver.
Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried veggies should be finished in one sitting, do not store.

We should prevent this without necessarily spending more. We just have to adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits. Maintaining good eating habits and time condition are very important for our bodies to absorb and get rid of unnecessary chemicals according to "schedule."

Because :

Evening at 9 - 11 PM : is the time for eliminating unnecessary/toxic chemicals (detoxification) from the antibody system ( lymph nodes). This time duration should be spent by relaxing or listening to music. If during this time a housewife is still in an unrelaxed state such as washing the dishes or monitoring children doing their homework, this will have a negative impact on health.

Evening at 11pm - 1 am : is the detoxification process in the liver, and ideally should be done in a deep sleep state.
Early morning 1 - 3 am : detoxification process in the gall, also ideally done in a deep sleep state.
Early morning 3 - 5 am : detoxification in the lungs. Therefore there will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since the detoxification process had reached the respiratory tract, there is no need to take cough medicine so as not to interfere with toxin removal process.
Morning 5 - 7am : detoxification in the colon, you should empty your bowel.
Morning 7 - 9 am : absorption of nutrients in the small intestine, you should be having breakfast at this time. Breakfast should be earlier, before 6:30 am , for those who are sick. Breakfast before 7:30 am is very beneficial to those wanting to stay fit. Those who always skip breakfast, they should change their habits, and it is still better to eat breakfast late until 9 - 10 am rather than no meal at all.

Sleeping so late and waking up too late will disrupt the process of removing unnecessary chemicals. Aside from that, midnight to 4:00 am is the time when the bone marrow produces blood. Therefore, have a good sleep and don't sleep late.
DO TAKE CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH..................
AND PASS THIS TO ALL WHOM YOU LOV E & CARE FOR ......................

पसायदान (संत ज्ञानेश्वर यांचे पसायदान)
Pasaydan English Translation by Dr।: Ashish Manor Urkude:
It is prayer to the Almighty Lord/ Yahova/ Allah/ God of this Universe:

Hey Almighty of Multiverse, Please Grace me and accept my sermon as prayers
Let not sinners commit evil and their desire to ethical and good deeds increase, let all the living beings be live in harmony,
Let the evil and unethical vanish, let the sun of righteousness arise, let the wishes and desires of all the living beings be fulfilled and satisfied.
Let all the people live in the company of pious, generous Saints and Devotees of almighty god, so that they can bestow blessings and generosity,
Saints are full of blessings, like a tree loaded with fruits; Saints shower blessings in terms blissful words, deeds and blessings. Few call Saints as walking tree-God who fulfills the wishes of devotees. Few call these Saints as Ocean filled with blessings for all and who fulfill the wishes devotees.
Saints are like moon but without any dark spot on it. Saints are like Sun but without scorching heat which may harm anybody. Saints are harmless to all the living and non-living entities. Hence, people should listen and live with them and follow the ideals set by them, as they are always in touch with god.
Let all the beings in this world offer constant prayer to almighty God and thus remain always happy.
After listening to this, the Guru of Dnyaneshwar (who happens to be Nivruttinath his elder brother) blessed Dnyaneshwar saying, “You’ll get it.” This made Saint Dnyaneshwar very happy.
Then Saint Dnyaneshwar said, “This is my offering to the almighty, in fact my words are flowers which I am offering at the feet of the almighty.”
Saint Dnyaneshwar continued, “Henceforth I have only one wish that I’ll offer my body at the feet of my almighty God of this Multiverse.”

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Hope it's also available on other websites like wikipedia। However, it's what we were taught since childhood I put here.

A Practical lesson on Leadership from Dr. Satish Dhavan as quoted by Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam

A Practical lesson on Leadership from Dr. Satish Dhavan as quoted by Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam:

'Should Know How to Manage Failure'
(Former President of India , Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam at Wharton School of Business at
India Economic Forum , Philadelphia , March 22,2008)

Question to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam:
Could you give an example, from your own experience, of how leaders should manage failure?

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam:

Let me tell you about my experience.

In 1973 I became the Project Director of India 's satellite launch vehicle program, commonly called the SLV-3. Our goal was to put India 's "Rohini" satellite into orbit by 1980. (Please see ISRO website for technical and technological details.)
I was given funds and human resources -- but was told clearly that by 1980 we had to launch the satellite into space. Thousands of people worked together in scientific and technical teams towards that goal. By 1979 -- I think the month was August -- we thought we were ready.
As the project director, I went to the control center for the launch. At four minutes before the satellite launch, the computer began to go through the checklist of items that needed to be checked. One minute later, the computer program put the launch on hold; the display showed that some control components were not in order. My experts -- I had four or five of them with me -- told me not to worry; they had done their calculations and there was enough reserve fuel. So I bypassed the computer, switched to manual mode, and launched the rocket.
In the first stage, everything worked fine.
In the second stage, a problem developed. Instead of the satellite going into orbit, the whole rocket system plunged into the Bay of Bengal .
It was a big failure.
That day, the chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization, Prof. Satish Dhawan, had called a press conference.
The launch was at 7:00 am, and the press conference -- where journalists from around the world were present -- was at 7:45 am at ISRO's satellite launch range in Sriharikota [in Andhra Pradesh in southern India ].
Prof. Dhawan, the leader of the organization, conducted the press conference himself. He took responsibility for the failure -- he said that the team had worked very hard, but that it needed more technological support.
He assured the media that in another year, the team would definitely succeed.
Now, I was the project director, and it was my failure, but instead, he took responsibility for the failure as chairman of the organization.
The next year, in July 1980, we tried again to launch the satellite -- and this time we succeeded.. The whole nation was jubilant.
Again, there was a press conference.
Prof. Dhawan called me aside and told me, "You conduct the press conference today."

I learned a very important lesson that day. When failure occurred, the leader of the organization owned that failure. When success came, he gave it to his team. The best management lesson I have learned did not come to me from reading a book; it came from that experience .
